MIGO Eschweiler: mini-golf and indoor playground

We start our day in the charming village of Eschweiler, which is part of the municipality of Wiltz and just an eight-minute drive from the city centre. Here, you will find the "MIGO" leisure centre, where you can challenge your family to a game of mini-golf, whatever the weather. The fun circuit consists of 14 holes, each with different levels of difficulty, laid out around an artificial stream.

Children under 12 years old will then be able to use their energy on the magnificent indoor playground, spread over several levels, full of colourful games and play structures including slides, trampolines, tunnels and ramps, among other fun things. Meanwhile, adults can enjoy a coffee and sit at the tables conveniently located right next to the fun and games.

Luxembourgish cuisine at "Pit's"

In the meantime, it's time for lunch! Upon leaving the MIGO, we cross the street to meet at Pit's restaurant "an der Gaessen". This charming bistro offers a varied menu of the day and a wide selection of Luxembourgish and international dishes, to be enjoyed in the dining room or on the terrace. Try for example the famous cordon-bleu with mushroom cream! "An der Gaessen" also has a brand new bowling alley.

The "Kaul": a hotspot for outdoor activities

It is time to return to Wiltz for the rest of our family day. If you travel by bus from Eschweiler, get off at the "Lann" stop and follow the signs to the "Camping-Park Kaul". After a five-minute walk, you'll reach the "Kaul", a large open-air recreation area with a "Bike-Park", "Skate-Park" (for skateboarders), a multi-sports field for basketball, football or handball and a playground. There is also a heated outdoor swimming pool with a 600 m² pool and a 81 m² paddling pool for children. Open from June to September, you can cool off, have fun or simply relax in the sun or in the shade of the trees.

Nature or city walks

The "Kaul" is the starting point for several walking trails. This is an opportunity to discover the ponds in the forests surrounding Camping Kaul. Search for dinosaurs hiding between the trees... and discover the ponds surrounded by a rich and varied flora.

If you are a city dweller, then head up to the city centre to discover the sights of the Capital of the Ardennes. Climb the stairs of the impressive tower of the National Strike Monument to enjoy the splendid view of the city and its surroundings. Here we can also see Wiltz Castle, built as of the 12th century, with the Witches' Tower and the Amphitheatre. A short break - coffee for the adults, ice cream for the kids - on one of the terraces in the Grand-Rue, then a final climb to the garden of Wiltz, a public garden of 2.5 hectares. All the planting, terracing, sculptures and stone fields form a living work of art in the "Gruberbeerig". This public garden is laid out and maintained by people living with a disability, the long-term unemployed, participants in temporary workshops, craftsmen and artists.

And if the weather in the Ardennes is not conducive to outdoor activities, you can go to the charming little cinema Ciné Prabbeli, also located at the Gruberbeerig, which regularly shows films for all ages.

Spend the night as Indiana Jones

Who didn't love to sleep in a tent as a child? At Camping Kaul, the luxuriously decorated "Safari" style tents provide a real explorer's experience. The accommodation has plenty of space (43 m2) and all amenities (bathroom, heating, TV, ...). When you wake up, you can have breakfast (delivered right to your door) on the terrace, while admiring the sunrise. And then why not embark on a new adventure in Wiltz and its surroundings?
