Beer capital of the world
When you mention Wiltz to a Luxembourger, they immediately think of beer. In fact, the beer here is so famous that you don't have to be a beer lover to think of this malty beverage. Perhaps it's because when you are active here in the heart of the Ardennes, a hoppy reward usually awaits you at the end!
Battle of the Bulge
In the Ardennes at dawn on 16 December 1944 at 5.30 am, 1900 German guns opened fire between Monschau in the north and Echternach in the south. 250,000 soldiers and 900 tanks launched their attack in the Ardennes, aiming at the port of Antwerp, which the Allies used for their supplies.
