A triathlon like no other.

In "Wooltz", as they say here, triathlon is not a race. No, in Wooltz, triathlon is a combination of hiking, electrically assisted cycling and a visit to the National Museum of Brewing Art and the tasting of a craft beer.

We offer you a tailor-made tour that shows you the most striking aspects of the capital of the Ardennes. Nature, with a capital "N", a journey through time and the famous Battle of the Bulge as well as a visit to the brewery museum, which brings this special triathlon to a delicious close. Count on 4 hours to experience a total disconnection, far from the daily obligations. Of course there is nothing to stop you from staying longer and making Wiltz your starting point for excursions. Hotels, shops and restaurants are ready to welcome you and offer you the best the region has to offer.

The cultural hike

The cultural trail (yellow) includes 21 sights in the upper town. You will learn why Wiltz was given the honorary title of Martyrdom City. You will get to know the Prabbeli Social and Cultural Centre and the Garden of Wiltz. You will see the completely renovated town hall, the Martyrs' Square, the Faber House, the Witches' Tower, the Wiltz Castle and its garden as well as the brewery museum and many other buildings and monuments of Wiltz.

This route is about 3 km long, the total length depending on the distance within the Garden of Wiltz.

The cultural trail (red) comprises 25 sights, 12 of which are in the lower town. It is about 4.5 km long. The lowest point is at the Niederwiltz bridge (310 m), the highest point is at the shrine of Our Lady of Fatima op Baessent (400 m).

You will discover the Rodange-Reenert-Kulturwee, the variety of decorated keystones in the old choir (1510) of the decanal church, the Villa Simon, the last windmill in Luxembourg, the geological Way of the Cross and the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima.

The e-bike tour

The second stage of our "Wiltz Triathlon" is more specifically dedicated to nature. All we have to do is go to a cycle or E-bike rental station (Rent a bike) (at Camping Kaul, Tourist Info Wiltz, Liefrange, Esch-sur-Sûre...) to rent a bike, an E-VTT or a modern E-City bike for as little as 15 Euros per half day. All that's left is to pedal and marvel. The Wiltz region welcomes you with open arms. Wander around the lake of the Haute-Sûre, venture to Bastogne, ride along the Wiltz, you will be immediately won over by its unspoiled landscapes and nature. Paths lined with broom, and wild trails, this ride will plunge you into the Ardennes nature from the first pedal strokes. You will be invaded by an invigorating feeling that will make you almost regret givint your cycle back. But it's for a good cause. The highlight of our triathlon awaits us: a visit to the brewery museum.

A visit to the brewery museum:

Since 1999, the former stables of the renowned Château de Wiltz have been home to a museum entirely dedicated to the third most consumed drink in the world: beer.

The collections focus mainly on Luxembourg's brewing culture and techniques. In an experimental and didactic microbrewery, we will be led to taste a local beer, which after this day will have a very particular and comforting flavour. To participate in a complete brewing seminar and taste the fruit of your own production, allow for a full day. This is an experience to be highly recommended. A visit to the tanners' museum will remind us of the bourgeois past that contributed to the wealth of the northern town.

For half a day, we experienced Wooltz as we never imagined it to be, full of charm and surrounded by nature's bounty. The bitterness of its beer will leave us with a fulfilling memory that will make us want to discover a little more about the Capital of the Ardennes.
