Guided Forest Walk in Wiltz – Every First Tuesday of the Month

Every first Tuesday of the month, nature and heritage enthusiasts are invited to take part in an original and enriching experience: a guided walk through the forests of Wiltz, starting from the majestic Wiltz Castle, nestled in the heart of the Luxembourg Ardennes.
Starting at 2:00 PM, participants gather in the castle courtyard, a place steeped in history. Formerly the residence of the Counts of Wiltz, the castle overlooks the town and serves as the gateway to a journey that is both natural and historical. Led by a passionate guide, the group follows one of the region’s forest trails, covering a distance of 6 to 8 kilometers, accessible to all.
Throughout the walk, the guide shares stories about the local wildlife, Luxembourgish plant life, and historical events that have shaped the region — from the Middle Ages to World War II. Some trails run along ancient stone walls, remnants of the past, while others wind through peaceful clearings or follow the course of gentle streams. Regular stops allow participants to observe, listen… and sometimes even taste edible wild plants.
This monthly event, open to everyone, combines gentle walking, cultural discovery, and nature awareness. It attracts both locals and visitors curious to explore this preserved corner of northern Luxembourg.
Easily accessible by public transport, the walk always concludes back at the castle, where those who wish can extend their experience with a visit to the Brewery Museum or a break in a local café.
